#1  Bruce Mine Park featuring the Headframe

The Headframe was constructed in 1926 by the Harvester Company.  This steel structure was used to transport miners into the underground mine and haul iron ore up to rail cars adjacent to the headframe.  Self-guided tour will include plaques to describe the various structure in the Bruce Location. 

The CBA is seeking various grants and accepting tax deductible donations.  Donations may be mailed to:

Phase I began this Fall which includes brushing and building a road to the Headframe.  Architectural Resources designed the park.  The photo below features Board Members of the CBA standing by the sign that faces Highway 169 N.
#2  City Flower Baskets

CBA volunteers will continue to water the flower baskets on Lakestreet each weekend.
#3  City Tree Planting
Scheduled for May 19.  

CBA and community volunteers assisted by Amber Jungwirth, a forester with the MN Dept. of Natural Resources planted around 200 trees at 12 locations on public land in town.  A variety of trees included Red Oak, Bur Oak, Black Spruce, Red Pine and Wild Plum and Dogwood shrubs, all provided free by the DNR.

#4  Memorial Park Entrance Tree
An evergreen tree that will eventually be decorated for the holidays, will be planted.
#5  East Entrance Castle Project
The CBA is researching the installation of lighting and new signage.
Doc Graham  Days Festival
CBA volunteers served as grand marshals of the Doc "Moonlight" Graham parade on Saturday, Aug. 4.  The miniature headframe was loaned to the CBA to use in the parade.
